Road Traffic Law Driver Training
Commercial driving is a heavily regulated profession. Drivers are governed by strict rules on the rights of road users and how to use the road safely – particularly from the Highway Code and road traffic law (in the form of the Road Traffic Act 1988). Though it can seem like there is a lot to learn, it is crucial that drivers understand, respect and follow these guidelines throughout their commercial driving career, so that all road users and pedestrians can be kept as safe as possible at all times. Our expert road traffic law module will give drivers the knowledge they need to stay safe on the roads.
Road traffic law training from Driver Hire Uxbridge
The aim of our road traffic law module is to help drivers understand who makes the rules of the road, and how and why they are enforced. Your drivers will come away more open-minded about the importance of road traffic law, and the awareness they need to be able to adhere to it fully on a daily basis. Here are the main topics we will cover in this module:
- The ‘who’s who’ of road traffic law
- The Highway Code
- Driving licences: entitlements, renewals and offence codes
- Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS)
- Vehicle operator licences
- Vehicle safety
- Vehicle weights and dimensions
This half-day module will last for three and a half hours, so it can easily fit into a morning or afternoon. If your drivers would like to select another of our half-day modules to make up a full day of training, we are happy to deliver this. The full day (seven hours) of training can be used toward the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) – a qualification that is a legal requirement for drivers and also brings benefits in terms of compliance, insurance savings and fuel efficiency.
